Football

Football is a team sport played between two teams, typically consisting of eleven players each, on a rectangular field. The primary objective is to score goals by moving a ball into the opposing team’s net, using any part of the body except the arms and hands (except for the goalkeeper). The game is governed by a set of rules known as the Laws of the Game, which include regulations on gameplay, fouls, and scoring.

Football is known as “soccer” in some countries, particularly in the United States and Canada, to distinguish it from American football. It is one of the most popular sports globally, played and watched by millions, with prestigious competitions such as the FIFA World Cup, continental championships, and numerous domestic leagues. The sport emphasizes teamwork, strategy, and skill, and it is celebrated for its cultural significance and ability to unite people across different backgrounds.
